North Carolina Massage Therapy

Continuing Education Requirements

Massage therapy license requirements vary from state to state and the laws are constantly changing. It is our current understanding that North Carolina requires massage therapists to complete 24 CE hours every 2 years for license renewal, of which 3 CE hours must be in ethics.

While license expirations indicate December 31st, it is important to know that the renewal deadline for North Carolina is November 1st.

What We Can Do For You!

For the renewal period ending December 31, 2023 ONLY, all Continuing Education Activities are allowed to be completed online. Therefore, you may take all of the required 24 CE hours through our home study programs. For more information please visit https://www.bmbt.org/mtpages/CE_Requirements.html
  • You can use our various ethics continuing education courses to satisfy your North Carolina requirement.
  • Because the Institute for Integrative Healthcare Studies is approved by the NCBTMB as a continuing education Approved Provider, the North Carolina Board of Massage will accept all of our 160+ courses to satisfy your continuing education requirements with the exception of courses related to animal massage.

If you would like to verify this information, or have further questions regarding your massage therapy continuing education requirements, we suggest contacting the North Carolina Board of Massage directly. The telephone number for the North Carolina Board is 919-546-0050 or visit their website at http://www.bmbt.org/.

Remember, the Institute for Integrative Healthcare Studies is approved by the NCBTMB as a continuing education Approved Provider (#049478-00) and Health Positive! is a division of the Institute. All of our continuing education programs can be used for your Board Certification renewal.
